Workshop Objectives:
In this 90-minute workshop, participants will:
Understand the Aging Process: Learn about common emotional, physical, and cognitive changes in older adults, and how these affect relationships and daily life.
Navigate Role Transitions: Explore the evolving dynamics between adult children and aging parents, and how to manage the shift from child to caregiver.
Have Compassionate Conversations: Gain practical tools for communicating with aging parents about tough topics—like independence, safety, and health—while preserving dignity and connection.
Build Resilience with ACT: Discover mindfulness-based strategies to manage stress, stay present, and move forward with meaningful action.
